Why do men have to tinker with things (like trebuchets)?
The story begins a long time ago when man still lived in caves. Man got tired of eating plants every day, he wanted variety, also known as "meat". He began tinkering around until he came up with a way to sharpen sticks. Soon man was eating meat with his vegetables all the time.. Woman also liked having meat, so she let him continue tinkering. Of course sticks got dull, they were hard to sharpen, sometimes they broke so man kept tinkering until he discovered that some types of stone could be sharpened and of course you know what happened then.
Many years have passed and man continues to tinker. Many discoveries have been made, most have been used for good, some have been used for bad. Just think of it this way, where would we be if man did tinker. You wouldn't have 99.9% percent of the things surrounding you right now, for instance flush toilets, computers, automobiles, refrigerators, just to name a few. I know my wife really appreciates them too.
Everything man tinkers with doesn't end up the way it started. The first wood shelters look nothing like our modern homes. We are still in our infancy with throwing things with trebuchets. Who knows where it will lead. As you can see man has been tinkering for a very long time and must continue to do. It is who we are, it is what we do, for many it is as important as breathing. It's what makes us a man.
Happy Chuckin'!
